Suta is a truly special product that we encounter and interact with on a daily basis. The word "Suta" means "thread" in Sanskrit and it holds a deep significance for the founders, Sujata and Taniya. Their names beautifully incorporate the syllables "Su" and "Ta," which makes it feel like destiny. What began as a childhood game of selling bags made from handkerchiefs has now transformed into something much more meaningful. Sujata and Taniya have always had a profound appreciation for the diverse art and culture of India, and even after years in the corporate world, their passion never waned. In the face of numerous obstacles, Suta was born in 2016.

Suta is a fresh and innovative design house that specializes in creating clothing that beautifully blends tradition with contemporary elements. The intricate craftsmanship and attention to detail in Suta's designs exude elegance, boldness, and grace. Taking inspiration from the rich craft traditions of India, Suta embodies the essence of its name, as it symbolizes the thread that brings creations to life. There is an intangible quality that sets certain things apart - like a mother's cooking that surpasses even the finest chefs in the world or the comforting presence of a father that makes a girl feel safe even amidst chaos. We call this quality "love." The love that Sujata and Taniya have for each Suta product is what truly distinguishes Suta from the rest. Each design is imbued with their love and care, evident in the photographs captured by Taniya and often modeled by Sujata.

Get to know Su and Ta:

Your hosts, Sujata and Taniya, are designers driven by passion and choice. Sujata completed her engineering studies at CET Bhubaneswar and pursued an MBA at IIFT Delhi. She gained six years of valuable experience working with the Essar Group and Jindal Group. Taniya, on the other hand, graduated as an engineer from NIT Rourkela and obtained an MBA from IIM Lukhnow. She spent three years working with the TATA Group and IBM.
